I don’t need to go into vulgar speech here or even “Christian cussin’”. Your speech should be uplifting, encouraging, edifying, and glorifying to God, ministering grace to the hearer. It should not be vulgar, violent, selfish, or frivolous. Select your words carefully, Christian. Thanks to Halfie and Jan for a nice cuppa before we all went out for a curry in the evening. One more black man shot dead in the streets by a law officer, a representative of the justice system. It was Sunday morning. I´d just finished the wake-up routine hygiene, praying, mixing that smoothly bitter shot of Colombian coffee and tuning my T. V. to the news channel. I sat down and began reading about the mentalities of women in an unsavory magazine it came over the airwaves. “Get on the ground! Don´t move! Don´t move!” I looked up to see on TV the man, a black man, though it doesn´t really matter, getting his face smashed into the ground by the weight of a white officer´s knee. The officer was applying all of his weight to the head of the subdued man. I have a few pictures to share with you and a few more a bit later. This week in AFS. As many know, Nietzsche was a harsh critic of religion and Christianity in particular. Because I had been judged, shamed and oppressed by the fundamentalism I grew up with in southern West Virginia, I was drawn to Nietzsche even though he is actually way too harsh and extreme for me. He gave me some backbone and a way of seeing through some of the judgment I felt from the holier-than-thou set and their redneck attack dogs. So I thought I would share my general impression of Nietzsche. I don’t claim to be an authority on Nietzsche. These are just my thoughts and personal views. Nietzsche was a brilliant scholar whose academic career advanced rather quickly. Hello Ai friends and happy Monday! I'm sharing a card and spreading some wintery love. I guess the real question is what is the difference, race set aside, between the Brown case and the Dillon Taylor case. With the Dillon case, no riots, no race baiting, no Al Sharpton, no Obama, no Jesse Jackson , no federal involvement. The officer in that case was called "not white", not black as he happened to be.
The press down played it.The officer was quickly and quietly excused for the shooting of an unarmed white male. No big deal, no press to speak of. No feds, and no ongoing federal investigation. I don't mean to sound like the Dillon character was a saint, or innocent for that matter. I do have a problem with the double standard. I most definitely have a problem with it being OK, because only a white person was killed. Ideas are a dime a dozen. Everyone has them.
Some are good and extremely creative while others are not realistic or applicable to a certain situation. As social media continues to evolve, there now seems to be an endless sea of ideas as to how education should change and what educators should do to improve professional practice. I will go as far to say that just having an idea is not good enough. It doesn’t take much effort to develop a sound bite that sounds great in theory, but if it is challenging to implement in practice, especially at scale, then we need to reconsider the relevancy of that idea. .
