I think I'll pick up the Pynchon and Wallace books the next time the opportunity arises. I always meant to read them but never got around to it. All of the verses quoted in the previous post are past tense sentences. Here are a few more. “But now we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

“But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.

Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. “Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations. I think the North Oxford Canal must have a licence to bear sidearms. It reminded us of parts of the Shroppie – long stretches with embankments and cuttings rather than locks to negotiate the undulations of the landscape. The only tunnel was totally unthreatening. The only warnings were about a couple of underwater obstructions, and the need to limit speed so as to avoid creating more. Actually the biggest obstruction was when we came to the Rose Narrowboats yard. They've got to be moored somewhere during the winter months, but this apology for a swing bridge will be stopping traffic all year round. However, the feature of the canal that stood out was the regular occurrence of sidearms. Checking out those Jones Bars. I usually do this ride every Fall that entails going out to the Green Belt and single speeding the length of it out and back. I've done this ride every year for. Whether I use a dot for the entire background fabric or just a little here and there, I almost always incorporate polka dots in my quilts. It adds a bit of whimsy. They're happy! They're classic. I LOVE them. But there have been times when I have went to my stash and just didn't have the variety I needed. It's like all I had was polka dots! In my opinion, polka dots are always a safe choice when buying fabric, but I've realized that I needed to branch out a bit. We have a resident rat. At least, I hope it is "rat", not "rats. " I enjoy living in denial. Fortunately it is an outdoor country rat that is NOT residing in our house. Instead it has some sort of den near the concrete foundation of our house, about ten feet from the birdfeeder. Mr. Ratty is living the good life. His meals are delivered daily, and he stuffs his cheeks with birdseed and runs back and forth to his subterranean home, stockpiling for the long winter. Stuff those cheeks! Stuff, stuff, stuff!Cheeks stuffed, he takes off for home. He has done this so much that he's worn a deep furrow in the snow. I call it "The Rat Trail. "A chickadee on the right watches as Mr. m. Or is it more of my usual weirdness?I'm spinning singles as thin as possible, with the idea of chain-plying them into sock yarn. And then of course, knitting socks out of them. We're in the midst of some very cold weather with more snow predicted for this evening and tomorrow.

Sunday it was just other worldly on our hill. We had a fresh couple of inches of snow and in the morning, it was so foggy and eerie, you could barely see the trees across the field. It was like something out of the movies. Our poor Border Collies Phoebe and Ness are getting tired of not doing any official work. We can't take them to the sheep because it would be mass chaos - mama ewes stamping their feet, baby lambs trying to run and escape these creatures they have never seen before. The dogs take their herding heritage seriously. The only thing they have had to herd since December are the chickens and guinea hens. There is a path deep in the snow where they circle around the pen when it is feeding time. A couple days ago, three of the guinea fowl escaped.
