I still haven't worked up enough courage to ride my bike on a busy street, but still. I'll get there once it warms up a bit. I've given up thinking of my bike as a street vehicle and plan on treating it as a walking aid, getting off and walking across intersections. But this headlight? I think I'm in love! The picture at the top of the post came from the Pedal Bright web site. One of the treats of my childhood was the arrival each week of LIFE magazine, with its amazing photographs and engaging articles. I learned about dinosaurs, galaxies, Hollywood stars and epic movies, sports events, episodes in U. S. history, and many other topics while leafing through the issues. The large photos and detailed illustrations were often strikingly memorable. Now I can experience those fascinating photos again. It was a series of jams where crews from different boroughs of the city came to party and preform together. There were battles and all of that. Announcement Trigger ProtestThere is more than enough reason for concern at this. But, beyond the nagging doubt of propriety, I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

But the FA item with the description of the lesson plan activity was even more sinister to me.

The students are encouraged to write goals and plans for themselves which the teachers are to collect and then redistribute at some future date. This brings to mind the Mao period of re-education after the revolution. The dutiful recitation of the slogans from the Little Red Book. My daughter is especially creeped out by spiders lately. She finds their numerous eyes especially spooky. Since this spider only has one, maybe she will like it better. . It was the first cool day all summer. I had no help this day and was afraid I could not care for the fifteen horses alone, but I did. I even had time for a few little projects like dragging all the bins of winter blankets out of storage. Before we know it, it will be winter. This was was the day that Sun came into my life. Sun is a quarter horse palomino, about twenty four years old, starved almost to death. This was his reward for having been a slave all his life. I don’t know much about his story, only that he was a school horse no longer needed and growing old. This kind old soul, perhaps, taught scores of people to ride, maybe hundreds. From what I can tell he was probably a pretty handsome guy. I pray I can bring him back to that. In both of them they have found the rests of the body of an armored knight, and above it in one grave the well preserved skeleton of a horse, while in the other the fragments of iron objects which, seen from above, resembled… a bicycle - At Poemas del Rio Wang, you can read additional details about other pre-modern bicycles, including some from the Renaissance. Literally. You cannot do a kindness too soon, because you never know how soon it will be too late.

The sunflower basket shows up in different places every year: In the Foyer A Country Thanksgiving for Four I added this subway art to my foyer. As you can see, I changed it a bit in here. Obviously it will look a bit different in here on Thanksgiving Day. So today is Monday, a fresh start to the week, a brand new day- at least this is what I am telling myself! My weekend was a challenge- Friday ended with more drama and “news” in my “professional life” which meant I had more to process over the weekend, which typically means me venting to my husband, crying then needing to plan, find hope, and figure out what is in the not so distant future for us. Amidst my emotional highs and lows, I spent a good deal of the weekend writing and working on my book and also had my picture taken for my book as well as more fun photos which my hubby got to model for! Today is going to be a fresh start for my state of mind, time for me to suck it up and move on and embrace the good, hold close to the people who lift me up and just not take stuff so serious!!! In keeping with this goal I have attached a clip from last night’s flight of the Concords which made me laugh and smile and feel a little lighter!!!. Sint Maarten, NA This post is for SkyWatch Friday hosted by Yogi. The movie version of Three Lives Three Worlds: Ten Miles of Peach Blossom, aka Once Upon a Time, starring Crystal Li and Yang Yang are going to the Chinese theaters this summer. Although this version started production and wrapped up shooting before the Yang Mi and Mark Zhao's TV version, the movie has remained relatively low-key and secretive in the media. Unlike the TV drama, I feel the art direction of the TV movie has a grandiose and mythological feel. The costumes are a definitely more ornate and colorful. Ye Hua's wardrobe also diversified from his signature black palette, as shown below. I also heard there may be a sequel planned for the movie version if the first installation is a box office success. The original story is pretty dense and I don't think a two-hour screen time will do the story justice.

BEFORE AFTERWell the Radiofrequency procedure was quite successful. However, the pain relief is enough that I've been able to get back on the bike and start doing other activities like weight lifting at the gym! Yay! Of course I'm still quite depressed about all the weight I gained while doing nothing for the past year and a half and it will be a while before I can whittle that away, but getting active again is a great first step. The doctor wants to do the same procedure on my upper cervical vertebrae to relieve all of my pain. Unfortunately, my stupid insurance denied the procedure! I submitted an appeal and I'm waiting to hear back about that - my fingers are crossed!Unfortunately, these procedures really are just bandaids to mask the pain. But if they allow me to be active again, hopefully I can rehabilitate my neck to the point that the pain never returns. But at least I've been lifting weights.
